Attracted to join Virgin Active as her friends were raving about it, Widya signed up on the spot and was blown away by the facilities and fun classes available. She also became stronger and participate in more intensive sports she always wanted to try.

My friends all started joining Virgin Active and began raving about the perks of the club and all the fun classes they’ve attended together. I realised the motivation of going to a gym would be greater if I had close friends to work out together. So I booked a tour to check out the club. I fell in love with it immediately and decided to sign up on the spot!

I was first blown away by the Relax and Recovery zone which is unique to Virgin Active. I sometimes forget to ‘breathe’ and a 15 minutes rest in the Himalayan Salt room after a workout is always so rejuvenating. I’ve noticed that it helps me kick back into action at work and I’m able to focus better.

I had an old injury on my left knee which I needed to fix before a scheduled ski trip and decided to take up Personal Training with Alberto to focus on strengthening and improving the condition of my knee. I also didn’t want to suffer the consequences of an injury when I get older.

I can now participate in intensive sports like snowboard and wakeboarding and I’ve recently managed to complete mountain trekking in Cape Town and a marathon earlier this March!

Exercising, to me, is a way of life. It’s almost like the air we breathe, the food and water we consume, and the rest we need. I feel strange when I don’t exercise at least twice a week.
